A Tale Of Two Cities

The San Francisco Giants franchise is leaning entirely on the right arm of Tim Lincecum. He was awful. He only lasted. Three innings. His start was brutal.

The San Francisco papers basically shrugged off the bad start and focused on the win and the unusual hitting display.

Meanwhile the Yankees had an off day and the back page was still focusing on Sabathia's rotten start on opening day. And the mysterious hot water bottle he was holding.

The press broke that down like it was the spy plane pictures showing missiles in Cuba.

I have a theory about why he was holding a hot water bottle:

IT WAS COLD!
It's early April in Maryland! It's not the tropics!

This is what it's going to be like in NYC.

Nobody ever takes it into account.
People claim they don't read the papers... then when they leave New York talk about what a relief it is to get away from the scrutiny.

Maybe in his next start he'll have the New York papers wondering why he is wearing a jacket between innings.
