So much for the best teams in their league
As I mentioned last month, it's been since 1999 that the best regular season team in the AL played the best regular season NL team in the World Series.
And 2008 will be no different as the Angels and Cubs, combined for a whopping 1 win.
The Cubs played tight and the Angels signature daringness on the basepaths and hustle came back to haunt them.
Why did Guererro try to go first to third on a bloop hit?
Why did Torii Hunter try stretch out that hit in the 9th inning of game 3?
Why try a squeeze when a very hittable pitcher (in DelCarmen) was pitching with less than 2 outs? Just put the bat on the ball and chances are the run will score.
Why did Willits dive for that ball when simply cutting it off the hit would have held Bay to a single?
Not that I'm complaining!
But alas, the simple pick for the playoffs and World Series are once again eliminated early.
